Media Production Services

Advance arrangements with production staff are required unless otherwise stated. Arrangements should be made Monday - Friday between 8:00 am & 4:00 pm.

Color copies
Copies can be made while you wait during scheduled walk-in hours. Otherwise, orders may be dropped off at the Media Circulation Desk with a twenty-four hour turnaround time (except items left on Friday and Saturday).
Flat originals up to 11 x 17" can be printed on 8.5 x 11", 8.5 x 14" and 11 x 17" paper (including double-sided). Enhancements and additional output options are available.

Walk-in color copy service is available on the following schedule:

Services for faculty, staff & students

  • Color laser prints
    Files may be sent via the college computer network to be printed. Printing is done during scheduled walk-in hours. Prints can be made on 8.5 x 11", 8.5 x 14" and 11 x 17" paper.

  • Lamination
    Two-sided flat originals up to twenty-four inches wide. Lamination orders dropped off by 4:00 pm will be ready for pick up after 4:00 pm the following day (except Friday or Saturday). Orders dropped off on Friday or Saturday will be ready after 4:00 pm on Monday.

  • Color Poster Prints
    Large format poster prints are available from original PDF files. Prints can be made on 24", 36", or 42" wide paper (glossy or heavy-coated), or banner vinyl. Files may be delivered via CD, USB Flash drive or e-mail.

Additional Services for Faculty and Staff

Audio and video recording of campus events, theatre productions, faculty recitals and special lectures

Functions requiring an operator must be scheduled a minimum of one week in advance and are subject to staff availability.

To ensure the highest quality possible, please provide the following information when placing an audio or video recording request:

  •   Title and type (lecture, recital, etc.) of event
  •   Date, time and location of event
  •   Number and names of speakers and/or performers
  •   List of any projection equipment being used (for video recording)
  •   Copy of flyer and/or program for event

The event sponsor is responsible for obtaining written consent of the person(s) being recorded and forwarding this information to the Media Center prior to the event. Please use the Media Center's release form.

Please note the following additional information:

  • Video recording requests not requiring an operator are considered equipment requests.
  • The Media Center normally does not provide equipment operators for classroom recordings.

Off-air Recording

Media Center staff will record programs transmitted by basic cable, local television, or local radio upon request. When placing such a request, please include the following information:

  • Name
  • Department
  • Phone number
  • Program title & subtitle
  • Date program is airing
  • Channel
  • Start time
  • Running time
  • (If program is more than two hours, please let us know if you want it recorded on more than one tape or at SLP)

Please note: There may be a small amount of extra footage prior to the start of your requested program. We recommend that you review and cue tape prior to classroom use.

Off-air recordings from local radio, television and basic cable programming are available to faculty and staff for educational purposes. Please provide a minimum of 24 hours notice. Weekend recordings must be scheduled by 3:00 p.m. Friday. Radio and television recordings are subject to the Federal Guidelines for Off-Air Recording of Broadcast Programming for Educational Purposes. Cable television taping guidelines for educational purposes are determined by individual stations. Please contact the Media Center for specific details.

Demonstrations, Presentations & Workshops

Individual, group or class training in camcorder and digital camera operation, video production techniques, video editing systems and lab services are provided.

Audio/video dubbing and editing of educational materials

Signs, posters, certificates and nametags for college related activities

Scanning of photographs (up to 11 x 17 inches), slides or 35mm originals can be saved to disk and/or printed (For large orders, this service is available during breaks only)
