Assistant Director Web Communications

Marketing and Communications Department

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, provide leadership for the ongoing planning and development of College Website, naz.edu.  Serve as chief Web advocate promoting the use of the Web as a marketing tool throughout campus.  Work closely with ITS and collaborate with faculty and staff to translate their goals into appropriate Web strategies and tactics.  Provide sound leadership and advice to ensure that policies and practices promote consistently high quality in content, design, and navigation to support the vision, mission, and brand platform of the College to its constituencies.  Success in this role will require strong commitment to leadership, creativity, teamwork, and communication.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Collaborate with the marketing communications team to ensure a seamless integration of print, Web, email, and social media opportunities.
  • Work closely with ITS to co-partner on the technical execution of naz.edu and related initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and deliver on strong client service.
  • Analyze data and make recommendations based on Web performance metrics.
  • Supervise one direct report.
  • Identify and make recommendations on emerging opportunities.
  • Educate colleagues about interactive possibilities and trends.

 

A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in English, journalism, communications or a related field with three or more years of experience as a Web strategist and communicator.  Sound understanding of Web marketing and how to use technology to advance the College’s strategic goals.  Experience with Web design and development, information architecture, multimedia production, performance analytics, and Web content management systems is essential.  Experience in usability testing and search engine optimization is highly desirable. Experience with Advanced XHTML, CSS, and Photoshop is highly desirable. Supervisory experience is a plus. Prior experience in higher education is desirable but not essential.

 

Successful candidate must be a self-starter with outstanding project management skills; the ability to multitask and prioritize projects, ensuring that projects deliver on time and on budget by effectively working with all campus constituents (including those outside of direct reporting structure) and vendors.   A highly creative thinker and master collaborator.  Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to provide clear direction to clients and providers of creative services.  Strong listening skills and ability to be open to other’s thoughts and opinions.  Familiarity with Web performance metrics and ability to analyze data and make recommendations to senior management team and others interested in the ROI of naz.edu.

Communications Officer
Department of Campus Safety

Communications Officer monitors a variety of security and fire alarms, as well as the campus-wide I.D. system, card access and parking management and is the first point of campus contact for prospective students/parents, campus visitors and new students. Provides continuous administrative support to the shift supervisor/officer-in-charge. Assists the patrol staff in filing appropriate reports and forms. Coordinates the updating of all campus events on a daily basis to ensure delivery of accurate and timely information.

High school diploma is required; Associates Degree desirable. At least two years experience in the security/criminal justice field. Must project a positive and professional image in all dealings and be able to function by prioritizing calls and effectively coordinate security response in all crisis and non-crisis situations. Computer skills are desirable. Experience with fire/intrusion alarm and security monitoring systems. Strong communications and organizational skills and good judgment are required.

Hours: 16 hours a week - 52 weeks a year

11:00 pm - 7:00 am (Saturday and Sunday)
