Department of History & Political Science

Welcome to the Department of History and Political Science. Our undergraduate programs include majors in History, Political Science, International Studies, and American Studies, and minors in Pre-Law, History, Political Science, and International Studies.

All of our programs are dedicated to the study of the human experience across time and across the globe. Our history program exposes students to the variety of lives lived in the past, and in our political science program we deal with the intellectual and ethical issues of the exercise of political power. In international studies we challenge students to grapple with and help solve the complexities faced by the global community while American studies focuses on the interdisciplinary examination of the cultures of the United States.

With such a well-rounded education, we know that our students develop the highest qualities of professionals in their fields: critical thinking, a love of knowledge, and a deep understanding of how the events of yesterday influence the world of tomorrow.
