Partnerships
Nazareth is proud to be a part of several partnerships with other health care educators and organizations. The following collaborative efforts facilitate shared expertise, experiences, and resources which in turn benefit students and patients in the greater Rochester community.
Nazareth Health and Human Services and RIT Engineering Partnership
The School of Health and Human Services at Nazareth College and the College of Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology have formed a partnership to develop innovative engineering applications of assistive and therapeutic device technology. RIT faculty and students from their Senior Design Program collaborate with faculty and students in the HHS clinics to design new equipment or modify existing equipment to improve client functioning and therapy delivery.
The benefits of the partnership are many. Nazareth students gain a better understanding for the medical technology they work with every day, and RIT students observe in the clinics to better understand the clinical challenges faced by therapists and clients.

Hickock Center for Brain Injury
Nazareth College and Hickock Center for Brain Injury are co-sponsoring a new learning center at the Center for Brain Injury. The new center will expand the interdisciplinary learning experiences for Nazareth students and faculty and for Hickock's staff, members and families.
"Students will be able to develop their clinical skills as they increase their understanding of the long term effects of acquired brain injury and gain greater insight into the challenges of delivering community reintegration services," said Shirley Szekeres, dean of the School of Health and Human Services.
"Working with the Hickock Center for brain Injury was an inspiring and memorable experience. Most rewarding was the appreciation and gratitude expressed by our clients. Working with them served as inspiration for my goals in the field of speech pathology.
While touching the lives of others, I was touched by, and learned from, their lives and experiences."
