Speech and Hearing Clinics
The Speech and Hearing Clinic was established in 1957 as an integral component of undergraduate and graduate pre-professional education in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The mission of the clinic is to develop students' clinical skills while delivering quality services to children and adults in the Rochester community under the direct supervision of licensed, certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
Nazareth currently offers three on-campus clinics and several off-campus services which address a wide range of communication disorders.
Aphasia Clinic
The Aphasia Clinic provides affordable speech-language-communication assessment and intervention to individuals with chronic aphasia or motor speech disorders. This clinic is designed to reach out to individuals who are no longer eligible for services under their health coverage.
Hearing and Auditory Processing Diagnostic Clinic
The Hearing and Auditory Processing Diagnostic Clinic provides testing for people with suspected hearing loss or with auditory/listening-based learning disabilities.
Speech and Language Clinic
The Speech and Language Clinic provides clinical services for a wide range of disorders including articulation, voice, fluency and language.
Off-Campus Outreach
In addition to the on-campus clinics, student clinicians and faculty provide supervised outreach services to preschools, schools and adult day programs.
"I feel that I had an advantage entering graduate school having already worked with clients in the Speech and Hearing Clinic. This experience gave me the opportunity to link classroom knowledge with clinical application. Working in the clinic motivated me to advance my skills."
