Gerontology Minor Program

Gerontology is a multi-disciplinary approach to every aspect of human functioning in the later years. Courses in the Nazareth's Gerontology minor draw upon disciplines such as the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences, with a perspective that reflects the complexity of the environments within which individuals live and age.

The minor in Gerontology at Nazareth College was proposed in 1976 by Phyllis M. Ladrigan, Ph.D. and was implemented that year. Students enroll in the major of their choice. Through the specialized courses and internships of the minor, they become aware of the attributes of the older population.
