Student Assistants
At The First Year Center we have a number of students who are here throughout the workday to do both the necessary jobs around the office, and to visit with and help students when they come in. Every year, we try to hire a new student staff member to join us, so let us know if you are interested! Our student staff currently includes:
Dan Horn is a second year graduate student in the Math Adolescent Inclusive Education department. He is currently student teaching at Monroe and McQuaid Jesuit High Schools. When he graduates in December he hopes to work as a high school math teacher and high school basketball coach.
Dana Williams is a graduate student in the Childhood Inclusive Education department. This is her first year at Nazareth and with the First Year Center. She is very excited to work with the students here. Before Nazareth, she worked as a telecounselor at a crisis call center and as an administrative professional at the University of Rochester.
Jenna Ventura from Syracuse, N.Y. is a History and Inclusive Education major. She is a sophomore and is involved in many campus activities including Women's Chorus, The Gleaner, and Campus Ministry. She is a student ambassador, Orientation Leader, President of the Class of 2010, and President-Elect for the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). After graduation she plans to go to graduate school in Boston to pursue a PhD in inclusive education specializing in behavioral disorders.
Ashley Eipp is a junior, Art History major from Onondaga N.Y. She is a member of the softball team and a student ambassador. She plans to work as an art teacher once she graduates while she continuing with graduate courses. She likes outdoor activities especially camping, hunting, fishing, photography, and of course art!
Michael Kalman is an Art History major from Montauk, N.Y. Once he graduates this he plans to work for an advertising company somewhere in the northeast part of the states. He is also a Resident Advisor, member of the Naz Ski and Snowboard clubs, as well as the Student Activities Council.
Nick Amorese is from Piffard, N.Y., a senior Business Administration and Economics major with a minor in entrepreneurship. He will be graduating (a semester early) and wants to attend the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester or Wharton School of Business. His long term goal is to open his own business.
Julianna Grant, from Liverpool, N.Y., is an Italian major with a minor in inclusive education. She is involved with the Italian Club and is also a member of the Nazareth College JV soccer team. She will be heading off to Italy in the Spring 06 semester. Julianna hopes to be an elementary school teacher someday.
