Emerson Language Lab: Mission

Mission Statement
The Emerson Language Lab supports the mission statement of Nazareth College through an evolving variety of cutting-edge equipment, resources and support systems to engage and aid the College community in the study and instruction of foreign languages and cultures.

Principal Goals of the Emerson Language Lab

• Provide cutting-edge technology for study of languages, literatures and cultures
• Assist professors in integrating technology into their curriculum
  
• Support faculty and students in using lab hardware and software
  
• Have native speakers assist students with pronunciation and lab-related resources
  
• Offer resources to international students studying English
  
• Run pilot programs aimed at improving languages learning and cultural awareness
  
• Conduct linguistic and cultural research
  
• Find and give access to publishers' electronic resources
  
• Explore grant opportunities to enhance the study of languages and literatures, as well as to introduce new programs
