Emerson Language Lab: FAQ

Where is the Lab?
The Lab is located on the fourth floor of the Golisano Academic Center in room 421.

Who can access the Lab?
The Lab is used primarily by language students. All language students undergo a lab orientation at the beginning of the semester. Many language classes have lab sessions built into their schedules. These classes meet in the Lab bi-weekly to take advantage of the language-learning resources it has to offer. The Emerson Language Lab is also used in the summer by the American Language Institute by international students studying English as a second language.

Are there any online resources?
Several of the Internet resources found within the Emerson Language Lab are also available outside of the Lab. Students can access these resources, including SCOLA and WordChamp, from their personal computers via the Internet.

When can I use the Lab?
The Lab has scheduled open hours throughout the day, as well as during the evening and on weekends. Open lab hours vary, and are posted weekly outside the Lab and on the web. To view the current week's hours please click here.
