Chinese

Welcome

Chinese is one of the most important languages in the world, spoken in some form by almost one-quarter of the world's population. It provides access to the well known, rich Chinese cultural history and traditions. The importance of learning the Chinese language is growing, not only because the size of the Chinese community is increasing in the United States, but also because the links between the United States and China have been expanded in many fields.

More and more, students will find career prospects enhanced by combining their studies with Chinese. Chinese courses offered at Nazareth College include both an elementary level for students who have not previously studied Chinese and an intermediate level for students with some background in Chinese.

Instructor

Prof. Hui Sun, a native Chinese speaker from Beijing, China, has been teaching at Nazareth College since 2002.  Hui Sun is one of the founders of Rochester Chinese School in 1994 and has been teaching there since then.  Hui Sun has received a Bachelor's degree from China and a Master's degree from University of Rochester.
