11 Things You Need to Do
All students applying for need based aid in the form of scholarships, grants, work study or loans must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year they are applying for aid. Students applying for early decision must complete the CSS Profile by December 1 in order to receive a preliminary package.
You can now file the FAFSA online using FAFSA on the Web. This method is fast, easy and more accurate than paper. All students are encouraged to apply for a federal PIN number. This PIN number will serve as your electronic signature for the FAFSA. Applying for a PIN is very easy. You can visit the PIN web site at www.pin.ed.gov and within two days your PIN will be e-mailed to you.
Students interested in applying for TAP must list at least one New York State school on the FAFSA. Upon receipt of this information, a preliminary award notice will be sent to the student's home.
Early Decision Candidates: CSS Profile by December 1. A preliminary financial aid package will be awarded to admitted applicants in December. The award is tentative pending receipt of the FAFSA and income documentation.

*Freshman 2008-2009 FAFSAs should be filed by February 15, preferably from completed tax information. New students are encouraged to submit their forms as soon as possible, so they will have adequate time to review their financial aid packages before deciding which college to attend.
