Endowed Scholarships

Meaningful

By establishing an endowed, or permanent, scholarship you ensure that your gift today will benefit Nazareth students well into tomorrow. Through careful investment in the College's endowment, reinvestment of earnings and additional gifts, a scholarship can grow well beyond the original gift. Because only a portion of the interest generated by endowed funds is awarded each year, endowed scholarships are awarded forever.

Affordable

The minimum level to endow a scholarship at Nazareth College is $25,000. While this amount may seem intimidating, with careful planning, a gift this size is possible for almost anyone. Our staff is willing to work with you and/or your financial advisor to design a plan for giving that meets your financial needs.

  • Endowed gifts can be established through outright gifts of cash, a gift of securities or stock, a bequest or other planned gift, or a combination of gifts.
  • Payment on $25,000 gifts toward endowments can be spread over a period of up to five years.
  • Classmates, family members or friends can also join together to establish a scholarship — an excellent way to make endowing a scholarship more affordable.

Scholarship donors work with our financial aid office to help determine the general criteria by which recipients are selected including: financial need, academic merit, major or year of study. Scholarships are awarded in the fall semester following full endowment of the fund.
