Funding
Funding is available for Nazareth College faculty to pursue interests in innovative teaching methods and in scholarly research through the following sources:
Teaching Innovation Grant
- The purpose of the Teaching Innovation Grants is to support the development of new courses or significant revisions of existing courses and are typically between $1,000-$2,500. Special consideration will be given to projects of an interdisciplinary nature, especially those that integrate the liberal arts and professions in ways that might improve student learning. We are interested in projects and proposals that have the potential for lasting impact and address a significant educational problem that might be resolved by a one-time infusion of funds.
- If you would like to build or expand on a previously funded project, your proposal should include a brief assessment of the earlier project and its relationship to the proposed project. If you have any questions about an idea for a project you would like to pursue or if you would like to discuss an idea for a possible project, call Diane Enerson at ext.2380.

Research and Scholarship Grant
- Nazareth College also supports faculty grants for research and scholarship through the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The purpose of these grants is to support faculty members in enhancing professional abilities by conducting original research, writing for publication, or producing creative works in the fine arts.
Fund for Undergraduate Student Engagement (FUSE)
Formerly known as the Undergraduate Student Retention Fund, the FUSE is available for faculty, staff, and student leaders who would like to sponsor programs promoting student interaction between first and second year students and members of the Nazareth College community. Programs may take place either on or off campus and applications can be picked up and submitted to The First Year Center, located on the ground floor of Kearney Hall across from the stairs to the dining hall. You may also visit the First Year Center's website to download a FUSE application at

Student Leadership Education Fund
These monies are intended to provide opportunities for undergraduate students to attend professional conferences in their field of study, or to participate in leadership education programs and workshops on or off the Nazareth College campus. Typically, a student can receive up to $125 per conference at the most. In order for a student to be considered for Student Leadership funds, academic department heads, administrative staff, or club advisors need to complete the form which can be downloaded by clicking on the attachment to this e-mail, or by calling Wendy Mercado at 389-2881. Freddie Amstey, Acting Vice President for Student Development, administers this fund and she can be reached at 389-2880 or via e-mail at famstey2@naz.edu.
Faculty Associates Fund
Faculty Associates encourages and supports faculty endeavors to interact with a small number of students in an enriched setting to enhance student's understanding of the world, and our understanding of our students. Grants for projects designed to work with students range from $25.00 to $100.00. Faculty Associates also supplies a limited number of seats for plays at Geva, performances at the RPO, and events at Arts and Lectures. Further information on these programs is forthcoming. In the meantime, feel free to contact Sheila Scumaci at 389-2011 or via e-mail at sscumac3@naz.edu.
