Teaching circles are small groups of faculty (3-8) who meet regularly to discuss issues related to teaching and learning. They have a stated goal and a set time frame. - See a Snapshot of Teaching Circles projects supported by the Hewlett Foundation. Developed by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, the Snapshot tool is a way for sharing ideas about teaching and learning scholarship.
- Circles 2005
The Hewlett Foundation supported an ongoing faculty development project administered by the Center for Teaching Excellence that aims to shift the faculty discussions about teaching and learning from one-time workshops to sustained and collegial dialogue. A primary mechanism for doing this are the teaching circles currently being supported by the Center. See Circle Topics below.
