About the Director

Dr. Diane Enerson, Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence, received her Ph. D. from the University of Chicago in 1991. Here she also began her work in the area of faculty development as part of the Chicago Teaching Program (3-year project funded by FIPSE). Immediately prior to coming to Nazareth, Dr. Enerson directed the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at Penn State University, University Park, PA (i.e., the football school) for 11 years. While at Penn State, she established and expanded an instructional funding opportunity for faculty, published several texts about teaching that are still in circulation, created a comprehensive web site and designed an assortment of discussion based teaching development opportunities, including a 10 week seminar/course for college teachers, a luncheon series for teachers of large class sessions, and fireside chats. In addition to directing the new Center at Nazareth, she is also a Professor of Psychology.
