Welcome to the Nazareth College Creative Arts Therapy website!
The Creative Arts Therapy Department has been approved as licensed-designated by the New York State Education Department. Our Master of Science Creative Arts Therapy Program is embedded in a psychotherapeutic orientation, preparing those educated in art or music to be effective and ethical professionals specializing in the fields of Art Therapy or Music Therapy. Utilizing highly collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches, the Nazareth College program is committed to developing people who are capable of applying intellectual strength, ethics, and aesthetic values in the treatment of individuals, groups, and families.
Mission Statement
The Creative Arts Therapy Program is committed to fostering intellectual, ethical and aesthetic values as outlined by the American Art Therapy Association, the American Music Therapy Association and Nazareth College. The Creative Arts Therapy Program provides opportunities for students to develop physical, emotional, and learning skills through didactic education, rigorous supervision, clinical experience, and professional development, while simultaneously encouraging a commitment to values informed by ethical and holistic exploration.
