Program Overview
The National American Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) Association, whose mission is to facilitate professional development for international trade educators, trainers and service providers, has developed a national trade credential which provides a benchmark for competency in global commerce. Companies rely on the expertise of individuals handling their international activities and turn to NASBITE's Global Business Professional certification as the gold standard in this market.
Nazareth College's School of Management, in partnership with the International Business Council of Greater Rochester offer a series of courses designed to prepare individuals for this national certification exam. The CGBP credential confirms expertise in conducting global business and international trade.
Curriculum Description
This 5-part series provides individuals and businesses engaged in international commerce a way to prepare for that exam as well as the opportunity to gain expertise, increase efficiencies, maximize effectiveness and excel as a global competitor. This fast-track, focused preparation utilizes best practices delivered by industry experts, themselves CGBP credentialed.
Components
- Global Business Management
- Global Trade Commerce
- Global Marketing
- Global Supply Chain Management
- CGBP Practice Test and Case Studies
The Certified Global Business Professionalâ„¢ Credential is attained by taking a qualifying exam administered by NASBITE (who is not involved in providing candidate preparation for the exam). Since 2008, Nazareth has been able to host the exam here in Rochester due to the number of applicants for the test. For exam dates and locations for 2010, check-out the web site at www.nasbitecgbp.org
Who Should Attend
The CGBP preparation courses are designed to meet the needs of individuals working in the profession or studying for a career related to global commerce. Candidates from both small and large companies will benefit, as will graduates of four-year degree programs in business.
Though advanced, these courses are suitable for individuals new to international business or professionals and entrepreneurs currently involved in international business or trade who would benefit from in-depth exposure to the tasks and knowledge domains tested through the CGBP exam. Those from service industries, such as banks and forwarders supporting international companies, will find the program useful in better understanding the needs of their clients and the legal implications of their services.
Uses
Candidates who successfully pass the CGBP exam and have completed either two-years of college level study or two years work experience in global commerce will receive the NASBITE CGBP designation. They may use the credential logo and word-mark on resumes and business cards identifying themselves to employees and the public as individuals proficient in global commerce.
