Telephone Repairs, Moves, and Charges
Phone Repairs
If your phone is out of order, call the Nazareth Workorder Hotline at ext. 3490. Indicate the extension, location, and nature of the problem. Pay phone problems should be reported to the switchboard.
Moves and Changes
If a phone needs to be moved or removed or a feature needs to be changed, call Information Technology Services at ext. 2100. You may also call this extension if you have a question about a feature.
Phone Charges for Faculty/Staff
Your department is charged back automatically for telephones and voicemail boxes assigned to your department. The current departmental charges are $3 for the telephone and $2 for the voicemail box. These chargebacks are the internal accounting procedure for allocating actual institutional costs to where they are being used.
If you are authorized to make long distance calls, you will need a four digit access code which you enter after the "double tone" after dialing the number. Your department head can provide you with the code if needed.
Department heads should contact the Controller if it appears that their code does not work. If it appears that your phone is not set to allow long distance calls, even if you have the code (i.e., you never get the "double tone"), this is a phone setting that needs to be changed by Information Technology Services - the department head should contact Information Technology Services at x2100 for this change. Department heads will get a monthly listing of long distance calls made using their code, and they should review this listing. These billing records come from our long distance provider, but some additional calling information is continuously recorded at Nazareth and saved for at least six months - if you have a concern about certain calls being charged to your code, some limited additional information can be requested by calling x2100.
