The Patricia Carter Child Care Center
The Patricia Carter Child Care Center of Nazareth College
(PCCCC) is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment
that promotes the physical, social, emotional
and
cognitive development of young children. We believe that the
goal of early childhood education is to provide opportunities
for children to learn about themselves and their world through
stimulating, hands-on activities. Play is a strong component
of our program, whether child- or teacher-directed, allowing
children the freedom to explore and observe their environment in ways that
suit them individually.
PCCCC provides a low teacher to child ratio (1:6 for three year
olds and 1:7 for four year olds), which allows for individualization
and quality care. Morning and afternoon snacks and lunch are
provided on a daily basis.
Daily schedules are set up to provide active and quiet periods;
individual, small and large group experiences; fine and gross
motor activities; snacks, lunch and rest time.
Children must be at least two years and ten months of age and
toilet trained to enter PCCCC. The Center will provide wraparound care for those children in kindergarten and will continue to care for them through the summer following kindergarten. PCCCC gives preference
to the college's students, staff and faculty. Members of the
community are welcome on a space available basis. A registration
fee of $30.00 is required with the completion of all enrollment
materials.

PCCCC operates weekdays from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, 49 weeks per
year; it is closed one week in August and two weeks during the
Christmas and New Year's holidays. Tuition is not charged during
these breaks.
The Patricia Carter Child Care Center of Nazareth College is
licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, and is working to regain accreditation through NAEYC.
