"I was surprised to find that I could participate in summer research after my freshman year of college. Now, I'm entering my junior year in the Chemistry Department, still performing research. The projects that I have worked on with other students and the professors have helped me think beyond doing steps one, two, and three. Research opens you up to learning about modern topics and applying new techniques and logic that you can only gain by working in the lab."
