Nazareth College ACS Student Affiliate
Phi Lambda Upsilon
Phi Lambda Upsilon is a National Honor Society that recognizes those who achieve excellence in Chemistry. The Society has an At-large Membership program that extends recognition to undergraduate students at insitutions, such as Nazareth College, where no active local chapter exists.

2009 Nomination: Lynn Atwater
American Chemical Society Outstanding Senior Award
This award is presented by the Rochester Section of the American Chemical Society to honor a graduating senior Chemistry major.

Department of Chemistry Service Award
This award is presented to a senior chemistry major who has demonstrated service to the department.

Recipient: Justin Carmel
Sr. Therese M. Lang Biochemistry Award
Sr. Therese M. Lang was a member of the Nazareth College faculty for 25 years and was the chair of the Department of Chemistry for ten years. During her tenure the biochemistry major was established as a result of her vision and diligence.

2009 Recipient: Lynn Atwater
Alice Taylor Gorham Memorial Award
This award recognizes excellence in undergraduate chemistry research. The award is named in memory of Dr. Nancy Farina's mother, Alice Taylor Gorham. Dr. Farina is a fomer chairperson of Nazaeth's Physical Therapy Department. Beginning in 2007, she honored her mother's memory with this annual award. Mrs. Gorham held both a B.A. and M.A. in Chemistry.

Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry
This award is intended to encourage student interest in analytical chemistry and to recognize students who display an aptitude for a career in the field.

CRC Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award
This award is presented to an outstanding student enrolled in freshman chemistry.
