Biology Student Presents in Albany with Chemistry Professor
On Tuesday, January 22, 2008, Lauren Wright, a junior majoring in biology at Nazareth College, was among only 70 statewide students selected to participate in the inaugural Independent Sector Undergraduate Research Exposition at the Legislative Office Building in Albany, N.Y. The one-day event showcased high quality undergraduate research projects, research posters, special presentations and provided networking opportunities for the students.
Wright, along with Professor of Chemistry Richard Hartmann, presented her project in which she collected soil samples in the Rochester area and identified bacteria that breaks down vegetable oil to be used for bio diesel fuel.
