Angela M. Amoia, Ph.D. (Nazareth Alumna, 2001, Biochemistry), is an Assistant Professor at Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) in Klamath Falls, Oregon.  Klamath Falls, a small town situated in the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains, is the sunshine city of Oregon and  OIT  is the premier polytech institute of Oregon paving the way for health professionals and engineers of our future.   Amoia is teaching general, organic, and biochemistry and developing a molecular biology course to implement into the curriculum.  She is also continuing her research in science education.  She enjoys the one-on-one interaction with her students (15:1 student-faculty-ratio), which is much like her experience as a student at Nazareth College.   Fiance, Mike Foster (Nazareth Alumnus, 2001, Physical Therapy), is the director of Recovery Zone, an out-patient Physical Therapy clinic in Klamath Falls.  In their spare time, they enjoy playing in the outdoor playground of Oregon!

Amoia received a dual doctorate in 2006 from the University of Arizona in the areas of biochemistry & molecular biophysics and molecular & cellular biology.  In addition, she received a Certificate of College Teaching during her graduate work.  Her postdoctoral work was in the area of science education.
