The Casa Italiana ushered in the Fall of 2006 with the biennial exhibit of works by Rochester area Italian-American artists. The exhibit, called Festeggiamo le Arti or "Celebrating the Arts," is the eighth such show in the Casa's history.
Talented local Italian-American artists submitted a total of 80 works for the exhibit in six categories: Painting, Sculpture, Print/Drawing, Photography, Digital Photography, and Mixed Media. Of these, 63 pieces were accepted for display in the show. Oil painter Jack Wolsky, retired art instructor and collector Earl Kage served as jurors for the exhibit. A total of $1,500 in cash prizes was awarded.
The exhibit was made possible through the generosity of Anthony, Carl, Louis and Raymond Zollo who in 1997 established an endowment fund for the exhibit in memory of their parents Antonio and Adelina Zollo.
