International Internship Opportunities for Americans
CDS International: A non-profit organization committed to the advancement of international practical training opportunities. This program provides a wide variety of internships around the world. For more information, visit the CDS website, or read below for sample internship descriptions.
Sample Internship Descriptions
- Summer Internship Program in Germany -provides 3-month paid training opportunities for U.S. college students in business/finance, marketing, hotel management/ tourism, computer science, and engineering fields. Deadline: January 15th.
- Schott Summer Internship Program -provides training opportunities (paid placements) at Schott Glass in Mainz, Germany for American students (completed junior year) and recent grads in business/marketing & sales, engineering, information technology and physical sciences. Language training will also be provided if necessary. Deadline:
February 1st.
- Bayer Summer Program - provides training opportunities (paid placements) at Bayer AG in Germany for American college juniors and seniors in chemistry, technical, and engineering fields. Deadline: February 1st.
- Summer Internship Program in Turkey - provides paid training opportunities in Turkey and on Cyprus for American students in the fields of business administration, international finance, hospitality management, hotel/restaurant, or MIS/IT management. Specific positions listed on website. Deadline: once positions are filled.
- Internship Program in Argentina - provides 3-month language/ internship opportunities for U.S. students and young professionals in Córdoba or Buenos Aires, Argentina in the fields of business/finance, marketing, hotel management/tourism, computer science, and engineering. Deadline: 3 months prior to desired program start.
- Internship Program in Germany - provides paid practical training opportunities for American students and recent graduates in business, finance, marketing, technical, and engineering fields for 6 to 24 months for graduates. Deadline: 5 months prior to desired program start.
- Culinary Arts & Hospitality Internship Program in Switzerland - provides practical training opportunities for recent graduates from the USA in the fields of culinary arts, hospitality management or a related field in Switzerland. All 18-month placements at four to five star hotels and high-end restaurants are paid. Deadline: 3 months prior to desired program start.
- Independent Work Abroad - provides work authorization in:
Germany;
Singapore; and
Switzerland
for recent U.S. graduates from universities and colleges. Participants find their own host companies and negotiate the terms of employment. Work authorization can be provided for up to 18 months. Deadline: 5 weeks prior to desired program start.
- Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals - a work/study scholarship program that enables 60 Americans to spend 12 months in Germany with a 2 month intensive language course, 4 months at a university and 6 months in an internship with a Germany company. Deadline: December 1.
- Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program - enables 20 young American professionals with graduate level training (Master's degree) in the fields of Business Administration, Economics, Journalism/Mass Communication, Law, Political Science, and Public Affairs/Policy to acquire an in-depth understanding of the political, economic and cultural environment of Europe through a 9-month work fellowship that includes two high-level internships in the public sector (4 months) and private sector (5 months), as well as three seminars examining Germany, eastern Europe and the European Union. Deadline: October 15.
