Ph.D., Kent State University
- Major: Ecology, specializing in the impact of alien plant species on the pollination of native species

M.S., University of Akron
- Major: Biology

M.A., Antioch University
- Major: Urban Studies and Planning with a concentration in Natural Disaster Management

B.A., Evergreen State College
- Major: Biology and Literature

Research Interests of Dr. Brown My areas of interest include:
- Plant biology in general including pollination, plant responses to the environment and best practices for propagating plants. I am particulary interested in plant-pollinator interactions, including plant attributes that secure species specific pollen delivery and pollinator behavior/response to plant rewards, especially in natural settings.
- Medicinal and cultural use of plants (Ethnobotany) including the growth of plants to maximize medicinal yield.
- Best practices in science education K-16 focusing on engaged pedagogies and empowering K-6 teachers to use inquiry in their classrooms.

Ph.D., Duke University

B.A., Colorado College

Research Interests of Dr. Hallahan My interests are primarily in  the areas of stream biology and animal behavior.  I am particularly interested in the aspects of water quality and the physical attributes of the stream and riparian habitat that influence aquatic macroinvertebrate species.  Areas of animal behavior that interest me are neurobiology, endocrine influence, stress, maternal behavior and learning.
