Teams square off again Friday at NYSWCAA Tournament

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 25, 2006) -- Host University of Rochester handled Nazareth Wednesday in the teams' final regular-season women's volleyball match. The Yellowjackets defeated the Golden Flyers in three games 30-28, 30-11, 30-22.

Freshman Katelynn Reed recorded eight kills for Nazareth and fellow freshman Carra Vanderstyne (pictured) contributed seven kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Laura Persico and junior Elizabeth Tregan also had seven kills apiece.

Nazareth will need to wait only three days for a rematch as Nazareth and UR meet in the first round of Saturday's NYSWCAA Tournament at Skidmore. Nazareth (14-19 overall) is the 12th seed for this weekend's tournament and will play the fifth-seeded Yellowjackets at 10 a.m. The winner of that match would play again at 4 p.m. against fourth-seeded Cortland.
