NAZARETH SPLITS TWO AT RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2006) -- Nazareth's women's volleyball team split a pair of matches at the RIT Invitational Saturday to return home with a 1-3 record for the weekend and a 4-6 mark so far this season.

The Golden Flyers defeated Clarkson in four games by scores of 30-28, 28-30, 30-28, 30-16. They followed that up with a tough four-game loss to Potsdam by scores of 31-29, 30-32, 30-20, 30-28.

Junior Elizabeth Tregan (pictured) turned in the most productive weekend statistically as she produced 48 kills and a .238 hitting percentage. Sophomore Laura Persico added 39 kills and 61 digs, freshman Carra Vandertstyne (pictured) had 28 kills and 50 digs and freshman Katelynn Reed had 23 kills and 13 blocks. Freshman Kate Zwickl had 107 assists for a per-game average of 7.64.

Nazareth returns to action Tuesday for a non-conference match at Fredonia at 7 p.m.
