NAMED E8 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

N.Y. (Oct. 16, 2006) -- Freshman Katelynn
Reed, a freshman middle hitter on the
Nazareth women's volleyball team, has been named
Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week for the
seven-day period that ended Oct. 15, 2006.
Reed, of Horseheads, N.Y. and a graduate of
Horseheads High School, totaled 29 kills in four
matches last week and produced a hitting percentage
of .355. She also had 12 digs and 13 service aces
for the week. Reed leads the Empire 8 in service
aces with 72 (0.77 per game) and is Nazareth's
leader in hitting percentage at .284.
Nazareth returns to action Tuesday to host St.
John Fisher in the Golden Flyers' final regular-season
home match at 7 p.m.
