NAZARETH LOSES TO CAPITAL, RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sept. 30, 2006) -- Host Nazareth dropped a pair of women's volleyball matches Saturday at the Kidera Gymnasium in a tri-match that also included Capital University from Ohio and RIT.

In the morning match, Nazareth lost to Capital in three games 30-23, 30-19, 30-23. Then Nazareth lost to RIT in an exciting four-game afternoon match. Scores were 30-27, 28-30, 30-27, 35-33.

Against Capital, sophomore Laura Persico had 13 kills and 10 digs and freshman setter Kate Zwickl 23 assists. Capital got 13 kills from Jessie Hampson and 12 from Jordan Centers and Marie Zumberger contributed 18 digs.

In the RIT match, Persico posted 15 kills and 13 digs and sophomore setter Elyse Monje had 28 assists. Freshman Katelynn Reed (pictured) also reached double digits in kills with 11 and freshman Carra Vanderstyne had eight kills and 13 digs. Freshman Natasha Villane had 15 digs.

In the Capital-RIT match, Capital won in three games 30-11, 33-31, 30-26.
