Fla. (March 9, 2007) -- Sophomore Joe Petzoldt
(pictured) produced 24 kills and junior Shaun
Tyszka added 17 as Nazareth defeated Warner Southern
in the first of three matches that the Golden
Flyers will play in Florida this weekend.
Warner Southern won the first game, 32-30, at
Lake Sumter Community College, then Nazareth
came back to win the next three 30-23,
30-28, 30-23.
Petzoldt's 24 kills came against just three
hitting errors in 43 attempts for a hitting percentage
of .480 for the match. Tyszka had just one hitting
error in 22 attempts for a percentage of .720.
Junior Kellen Gambeski and sophomore Kelvin
Rolle each had 10 kills and sophomore setter
Frank Leahy had 57 assists as Nazareth won its
17th straight match to improve to 19-3 overall.
Nazareth plays two more matches Saturday --
vs. St. Ambrose of Iowa at 11 a.m. and vs. Eastern
Mennonite at 5 p.m. |
