NAZARETH BREAKS MORE RECORDS AT RIT
» MEET RESULTS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Feb. 2, 2007) -- At least nine more school records were broken Friday as Nazareth competed at another indoor track and field invitational at RIT's Gordon Field House and Activities Center.

Sophomore Brandon Wheeler (pictured) and freshman Matt Case finished 1-2 in the 400-meter dash with Wheeler breaking the Nazareth indoor mark with a winning time of :51.46 seconds. Wheeler also broke the high jump record with a fifth-place leap of 1.85 meters (6' 0 3/4").

Case also broke a record in the 200-meter dash, finishing 11th in :24.07 seconds. Junior Aaron Sirtoli finished second in the mile run in 4:31.03, another record. Junior Brendan Epstein was seventh in the same race in 4:34.10.

Other highlights include junior Nick Stenuf winning the 800-meter run in 1:55.62. He also placed second in the 1,000-meter run (2:24.15). Freshman Jeremy Chapline was sixth in the shot put (42', 10 3/4").

In the women's competition, sophomore Lauren Glaser (pictured) broke two records. She broke her own school record in the 500-meter dash with a second-place time of 1:21.13. Junior Jessica Brown was third in the same event (1:25.39). Glaser placed third in the 800-meter run with a record time of 2:25.14.

Junior Abby Crain finished 11th in the 5,000-meter run and broke the school record by nearly 38 seconds with a time of 20:07.96.

Freshman Melissa Cutcliffe broke the long jump mark, finishing sixth with a leap of 4.98 meters (16', 4 1/14") and junior Meredith Coon broke her own record in the shot put with a toss of 11.01 meters (36' 1 1/2").

Freshman Jenna Porter fared well in two short races. She finished sixth in the 55-meter dash (7.73 seconds) and seventh in the 200-meter dash (:28.48)
