STENUF FINISHES SECOND AT ECAC MEET
Glaser top female Golden Flyer in women's meet

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (March 3, 2007) -- The Golden Flyers completed their second day of competition at the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Wesleyan University. Nazareth's men's team accumulated 14 points and placed 23rd out of 55 teams while Nazareth's women's team collected one point and finished 54th out of 56 teams.

Junior Nick Stenuf (pictured) was Nazareth's top performer as he placed second in the 800-meter run and gained eight points for the Golden Flyers. Stenuf's time of 1:54.82 was just .05 seconds behind the winning time of 1:54.77. Sophomore Brandon Wheeler, senior Craig Connelly, and freshman Matt Case joined Stenuf in the 4x400 relay which broke the school record and collected three points when it placed sixth of sixteen teams in 3:26.30. Wheeler also placed sixth in the 400-meter sprint with a time of 50.98 to gain three additional points for the Golden Flyers. Junior Brendan Epstein also competed Saturday in the 3000-meter run. Epstein finished 12th out of 31 runners in 8:58.83.

Sophomore Lauren Glaser (pictured) recorded the women's point in the 800-meter run after finishing in eighth place in 2:21.03. Junior Jessica Brown broke her week-old school record in the 1000-meter run as she finished in 12th place with a time of 3:07.72. Brown and Glaser joined junior Jen Giebel and freshman Jenna Porter in the women's 4x400 relay. The women finished in 11th place with a time of 4:09.12, which broke their week-old record by over 2.5 seconds. Freshman Melissa Cutcliffe also highlighted Nazareth's competitors as she finished 18th in the long jump with a leap of 4.83 meters (15 ft., 10 1/4 in)

The Golden Flyers had two relays compete Friday afternoon at the ECAC Championships. Nazareth's distance medley relay team of Jessica Brown, Jennifer Giebel, Lauren Glaser and Ashley Hughes broke their own week-old record with a ninth-place time of 12:47.99.

In the only other event involving Nazareth competitors Friday, Nazareth finished 11th in the 4 x 200-meter relay with a time of 1:34.22. The team consisted of Brandon Wheeler, Justin Banks, Matt Case and Jon Qazi.
