» MEET RESULTS

CORNELL, N.Y. (Feb. 10, 2007) -- Nazareth's destruction of the track and field record book continued Saturday at the Kane Invitational at Cornell as the Golden Flyers broke nine more school records -- six women's and three men's -- in the single day of competition.

No team scoring was kept, but the Golden Flyers got several strong individual performances, led by junior Nick Stenuf, who won the 800-meter run in 1:55.18.

Freshman Jon Qazi broke the school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.50 seconds. In addition, sophomore Brandon Wheeler set a record in the 60-meter hurdles (9.74 seconds) and freshman Jeremy Chapline (pictured) broke the record in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 11.88 meters (38' 11 3/4"), breaking his own mark by two inches.

Other highlights for the men's team included a seventh-place finish by freshman Matt Case in the 400-meter dash (:52.68) and ninth place for junior Brendan Epstein in the 3,000-meter run (8:58.09).

On the women's side, sophomore Lauren Glaser broke her own record in the 800-meter run (2:22.16) to finish third and to qualify for next month's ECAC meet. Junior Jessica Brown also qualified in the 1,000-meter run (3:08.67) as she broke her own school record by more than a second.

Freshman Jenna Porter broke the school record in the 60-meter dash (8.42 seconds) and she anchored the 4 x 400-meter relay that finished in 4:14.56. Brown, Glaser and junior Jennifer Giebel also ran in that race.

Junior Ashley Hughes broke the record in the 5,000-meter run by more than 40 seconds with a time of 19:37.38 and junior Meredith Coon (pictured) broke her own record in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.63 meters (41' 5 1/4").
