PORTER MAKES FIRST TEAM
Empire 8 announces all-conference teams for track and field

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 9, 2007) – Freshman Jenna Porter earned first-team all-conference honors for the women’s track and field team after placing first in the 400-meter dash (:59.73) at the Empire 8 Championships May 4-5 at SUNY Brockport.

Porter received second-team honors for the 1,600-mter relay that also included sophomore Lauren Glaser and juniors Jennifer Giebel and Jessica Brown.

Glaser and Brown also received individual second-team all-conference honors. Glaser was named to the second-team after finishing the 800-meter run in 2:20.19 while Brown was named to the second-team after finishing the 1,500-meter run in 4:52.47. Freshman Melissa Cutcliffe earned second-team all-conference honors in the long jump after jumping of 4.71 meters. Additionally, junior Meredith Coon received second-team honors in the spot put with a throw of 9.97 meters.
