N.Y (Sept. 30, 2005) -- Host Nazareth began its
busy Empire 8 Conference weekend on solid footing
Friday as the Golden Flyers defeated Elmira in
women's tennis, 8-1.
The Golden Flyers won all six singles matches
in straight sets, then captured the first two
doubles contests. Nazareth, which improved to
4-2 overall and 3-1 in E8 matches, visits Alfred
Saturday and Hartwick Sunday.
Freshman Stephanie Parvan (pictured) was a winner
Friday at first singles, while freshmen Rachel
Leonard, Danielle Carinci and Jessica Faber won
at second, fourth and fifth singles respectively.
Junior Betsy O'Brien captured her third singles
match and sophomore Rebecca Perlman won at sixth
singles.
