ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 29, 2007) -- Visiting Nazareth won its first Empire 8 Conference match of the season in men's tennis Thursday as the Golden Flyers evened their overall record at 4-4 with a 6-3 victory over RIT.

Senior Andre Putyera and junior Jon Weaver (pictured) won matches at first and second singles respectively and the duo combined for a 9-8 victory at first doubles.

Junior Terrance Nichols and sophomore Greg Bohneberg also won singles matches. Nichols also teamed with freshman Steve Trobert to secure another point for the Golden Flyers at third doubles.

Nazareth returns to action Saturday for an Empire 8 Conference match at Ithaca at 3 p.m.
