N.Y. (Feb. 26, 2006) -- Nazareth
opened its spring season for men's tennis Saturday
and Sunday at St. Lawrence University's Icebreaker
Invitational.
Sophomore
Terrance Nichols won three singles matches to
capture the title of the B singles bracket to
pace the Golden Flyers. He defeated St. Lawrence's
Pete Abernathy in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 in the
final. Earlier, Nichgols defeated Kento Kamiyama
of Ithaca in he semifinals 4-6, 7-5 (10-7) to
advance. He also won a close first-round match
over St. Lawrence's Neil Cutter 7-6(3), 6-4.
In
the A bracket Andre Putyera and Ryan Weaver each
won once before being eliminated. Jon Weaver and
Greg Bohneberg each won matches in the B bracket.
