NAZARETH DEFEATS RIT, 6-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 2, 2006) -- Nazareth won its third Empire 8 Conference match of the week Sunday as the Golden Flyers evened their overall record at 5-5 with a 6-1 victory over host RIT.

Nazareth also defeated Elmira last Tuesday and Ithaca Saturday and now stand at 3-0 in conference matches.

Senior Andre Putyera (pictured) won in straight sets at first singles and combined with Jon Weaver for an 8-3 win at first doubles.

Freshmen Ryan Weaver and Greg Bohneberg and sophomores Ryan Weaver and Terrance Nichols also won singles matches. Nichols and Ryan Weaver combined for a win at second doubles and Bohneberg and Kurt Meichtry won at third doubles.

Nazareth plays again at home Wednesday against Oswego at 4 p.m.
