LESHER PLACES 5TH IN 200 IM

HOUSTON (March 8, 2007) -- Nazareth junior Emily Lesher lowered her own school record yet again Thursday evening in the 200-yard IM as she finished in fifth place at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Houston.

Lesher earned All-America honors in the 200 IM for the second year in a row as she recorded a time of 2:05.55, one second better than her morning preliminary time. Lesher also placed fifth in the 200 IM in 2006.

Washington & Jefferson's Kaitlyn Orstein won the race in 2:03.13. Amherst's Brittany Sasser (2:03.78), Kenyon's Tina Ertel (2:05.12) and Washington University's Meredith Nordbrook (2:05.13) also finished ahead of Lesher.

Lesher is seeded third for Friday's 400 IM and 10th for the 200 backstroke on Saturday.
