HOUSTON
(March 10, 2007) -- Junior Emily Lesher moved
up to 10th place in the 200-yard backstroke Saturday
to complete a strong post-season performance
in which she won a national title, set three
school records and earned All-America honors
in three events.
Lesher was competing at the NCAA Division
III Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday
at the University
of Houston and posted a school-record time of
2:06.06 in the consolation final Saturday.
Brittany Sasser of Amherst won the event with
a time of 1:59.15.
Lesher claimed the national championship Friday
in the 400-yard IM with an NCAA record time
of
4:22.75. She also earned All-American honors
in the 200 IM Thursday with a fifth-place finish
(2:05.55).
