NAZARETH WOMEN DEFEAT ITHACA AND FREDONIA STATE
The men's team loses to Ithaca and Fredonia State
MEET RESULTS

FREDONIA, N.Y. (Jan. 20, 2007) -- The Nazareth women's team remained undefeated as the Golden Flyers defeated host Fredonia State and Ithaca in a double dual meet. The women defeated Fredonia 158-85 and Ithaca 126-111. Ithaca also defeated Fredonia 162-81 in the women's meet. The men also competed at the double dual meet and fell to Fredonia 176-58 and Ithaca 173-54. Fredonia also defeated Ithaca 119-118 in the men's meet.

Junior Emily Lesher (pictured) won two events for Nazareth and helped the 400 yard medley relay team finish second. Lesher finished the 100 yard backstroke with a winning time of 1:03.47 and the 200 yard freestyle in 1:56.61. The 400 yard medley relay team, also consisting of junior Kate Kukan and freshmen Lauren McKinney and Kaitlin Shearman, finished in 4:08.78.

Graduate student Amy Mehltretter recorded two victories for Nazareth as well as she placed first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.72 and the 1000 yard freestyle in 10:52.85. Mehltretter was also a member of the second place 200 yard freestyle relay team with sophomore Brittney Beane, and juniors Megan Okoniewski and Jen Dahm that finished in 1:43.70 losing to Ithaca by just .33 seconds.

In the men's meet, senior Tim Baker placed second for the Golden Flyers in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.97 just .02 seconds behind Al Palmquist of FSU who won the event. Freshman RC Weston placed third in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 59.23. Junior Jon Campbell finished fourth in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:10.98 for Nazareth.
