Women's team completes regular season at 10-1
with 135-92 win

ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Feb. 5, 2005) -- Junior Aubrey Kirchoff
(pictured) won three events and set two school
records Saturday as Nazareth completed its regular
season schedule with a 135-92 victory over host
RIT in women's swimming and diving.
The victory completed Nazareth's dual meet season
with a 10-1 record. In the men's meet, RIT defeated
the Golden Flyers, 146-76.
Kirchoff broke her own record in the 100-yard
breaststroke with a time of 1:09.96. She won the
200-yard butterfly in a record-breaking time of
2:13.75. She also won the 200-yard IM in 2:14.69.
Freshman Emily Lesher also won two more races
-- the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.75) and the 500-yard
freestyle (5:14.81). Other Nazareth winners included
sophomore Amy Mehltretter in the 100-yard freestyle
(:57.48) and junior Lindsay Slocum in the 1,000-yard
freestyle (11:59.19). Nazareth also captured the
200-yard freestyle relay (1:47.75) with the team
of Meghan Okoniewski, Jennifer Migliore, Amy Mehltretter,
and Elizabeth Walsh.
In the men's meet, RIT dominated, but Nazareth
got a first-place finish from sophomore Tim Baker
in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:22.01) and Jon
Campbell in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.65).
The Golden Flyers are 2-8.
Next up for the women's team is the NYSWCAA meet,
coupled with the Empire 8 Conference championships
Feb. 16-19 at Nottingham High School in Syracuse.
The men's team competes a week later at the Upper
New York State meet, also at Nottingham.
