LEMOYNE HANDS NAZ WOMEN FIRST SWIMMING LOSS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Jan. 15, 2005) -- Nazareth lost its first women's swimming and diving meet of the season Saturday as LeMoyne defeated the Golden Flyers, 141-100.

LeMoyne set five pool records in the women's meet, including two by freshman Alison Lesher -- the 400 meter freestyle (4:39.70) and the 800-meter freestyle (9:26.34). Lesher's twin sister, Emily (pictured), swims for Nazareth and won the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke for the Golden Flyers (8-1. Aubrey Kirchoff also won twice for Nazareth in the 200 IM and the 100 fly. Sophomore Amy Mehltretter broke her own school record in the 400 freestyle with a second-place time of 9:34.28.

LeMoyne also set pool records in the 400-meter medley relay (4:41.43) and the 800-meter freestyle (9:11.96).

In the men's meet, LeMoyne's Will Chidsey set a pool record in the 100-meter backstroke (1:00.74) as LeMoyne won 150-66. Chidsey also won the 200-meter freestyle. The Dolphins also got double wins from Luke O'Brien in the 800 freestyle and 100 breaststroke; Ryan Lowrie in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly; and Pat Delaney in 1- and 3-meter diving.
