NAZARETH DEFEATS LEMOYNE TO GO TO 7-0
Golden Flyers win 186-114; men's team loses 177-110
MEET RESULTS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Jan. 14, 2007) -- Nazareth won its seventh straight dual meet of the 2006-07 season without a loss Sunday as the Golden Flyers defeated visiting LeMoyne in women's swimming and diving, 186-114. In the men's meet, also at Nazareth, LeMoyne defeated the Golden Flyers, 177-110.

Junior Emily Lesher won three events for Nazareth and set records in two. She broke pool and school records in the 100 backstroke with a winning time of 1:07.50. She broke the mark held by Cheryl Roubian since 2001. Lesher also broke her won pool and school records in the 200 IM with a first-place finish of 2:27.36. She also won the 200 backstroke in 2:28.53, missing by three seconds the record she set earlier this season.

Junior Kate Kukan (pictured) won two events and broke pool and school records in the 200 breaststroke with a winning time of 2:50.02. She broke a record held by Lisa Elsemore since 2000. Kukan also won the 100 breaststoke in 1:19.14.

Freshman Lauren McKinney won twice for Nazareth -- in the 100 fly (1:07.95) and the 200 fly (2:29.42). Junior Meghan Okoniewski won the 50 freestyle.

Sophomore Hilary Ship finished first in 1-meter diving (143.32) and freshman Rebecca Kraft won on the 3-meter (156.67). Graduate student Amy Mehltretter had second-place finishes in both the 400 and 1,500-meter freestyles. She set a school record in the 1500 with a time of 18:18.53.

Lesher's twin sister, Alison, swimming for LeMoyne, won three events for the Dolphins. She set a pool record in the 1,500 freestyle (17:55.61) and also captured the 100- and 400-meter freestyles.

In the men's meet, sophomore Ricky Chidsey of LeMoyne won two events, including the 100 backstroke in which he set a pool record with a time of :59.94. He won the 200 backstroke in 2:11.61. The Dolphins also had three other multiple winners, including senior Shawn Bankey, who won three events -- the 50 and 100 freestyles as well as the 200 IM. Senior Will Clayton won the 100- and 200 breaststroke; senior Ryan DeWolfe won the 400- and 800 freestyles; and junior Ryan Lowrie won the 100- and 200 butterflies.

Nazareth got diving wins from freshman Matt Brown in the 1- and 3-meter events. Junior Jon Campbell was less than a second behind Clayton in the 100 breaststroke. Freshman Rob Wortel was second in both the 50- and 200 freestyles and senior Tim Baker was second in the 100 freestyle.

Nazareth travels to Fredonia Saturday for a meet that also will include Ithaca.
