MEET RESULTS

ALFRED, N.Y. (Oct. 21, 2006) -- Freshman Kaitlin Shearman won two individual events as did junior Meghan Okoniewski and graduate student Amy Mehltretter Saturday as Nazareth defeated Alfred in women's swimming and diving, 152-85.

The meet was the season opener for both teams. Alfred defeated Nazareth in the men's meet, 121-89.

Shearman won the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke for the Golden Flyers, who ran their dual-meet win streak to 12. Nazareth won all nine of its dual meets in 2005-06 and the last two of 2004-05. Okoniewski won the 50- and 100-yard freestyles while Mehltretter captured the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyles. Junior Emily Lesher was a winner in the 200-yard IM.

In the men's meet, Nazareth got second-place finishes from senior Tim Baker (pictured) in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, from junior Karl Kolkmann in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyles and from freshman Matt Brown in 1- and 3-meter diving.

The Golden Flyers compete again next Saturday at the Hartwick Relays.
