Back for his fourth season with the Golden Flyers, Montemarano continued to lower his times in 2002-03 and was the recipient of the team’s Most Valuable Swimmer Award. Montemarano was selected team co-captain for 2003-04 after earning Empire 8 All-Academi honors last season. A graduate of York Central, Montemarano competed in three sports there. He swam four seasons for Coach Phil Ayers and was a two-time sectional qualifier. Montemarano also competed in soccer and tennis. He is the son of Joe and Kathy Montemarano, Leicester, N.Y.
