ST. LAWRENCE SWIMMERS OUTSCORE NAZARETH
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S RESULTS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Nov. 1, 2003) -- St. Lawrence's Joanne Cavallerano won three events Saturday and set a pool record in the 200-meter butterfly to lift the visiting Saints to a 124-112 victory over Nazareth in women's swimming and diving. St. Lawrence also defeated Nazareth in the men's meet, 128-74.

Cavallerano finished first in the 200 fly in 2:32.37 to break the previous mark of 2:33.91 held by Tiffany Siu of Rochester. Cavallerano also won the 800- and the 400-meter freestyles.

For Nazareth, junior Laura Tyler (pictured) won the 200 IM and finished second in the 200 backstroke. Freshman Amy Mehltretter won the 100 freestyle and was second to Cavallerano in the 800 free. Tyler also competed in the winning 400 medley relay, which included Jen Meldrum, Meghan Rosinski, and Melanie Gorenflo.

In the men's meet, junior Mike Bond won the 1- and 3-meter diving events for the Golden Flyers. Matt Muratore was second in the 800 freestyle and Paul Osetek was second in the 200 IM.

Nazareth swims at Brockport next Friday and then is home Saturday to host Hartwick at 1 p.m.
