ITHACA, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2006) –
Host Ithaca got a first-half goal from Colleen Masterson Saturday and the Bombers held on to defeat Nazareth in women's soccer, 1-0.

The defeat was the second in a row in Empire 8 Conference play for the Golden Flyers, now 4-3 overall. Ithaca improved to 2-0 in E8 games and 4-2-1 overall.

Ithaca had a 17-7 advantage in shots and got the only goal it needed at 26:52 as Masterson converted a pass from Ashley Williams to score her fourth goal of the season.

"We were completely outplayed," said Nazareth Coach Gail Mann. "We cam out flat, but played a little better in the second half, but it was too late."

Nazareth junior Shannon Burns (pictured) played all 90 minutes in goal and made seven saves. The Golden Flyers will look for their first conference win Wednesday at St. John Fisher at 7 p.m.
