GOLDEN FLYERS MAKE E8 TOURNAMENT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 25, 2006) -- Nazareth's women's soccer team gained a berth in next week's Empire 8 Conference Tournanent Wednesday with RIT's 3-1 victory over St. John Fisher.

The loss dropped by Fisher enabled Nazareth to overtake the Cardinals for the fourth and final playoff spot. Nazareth is 3-3-1 in conference games and Fisher is 3-4. RIT clinched the second seed with a 5-1-1 conference record. Utica (4-2) is third and Ithaca (6-0) is first.

Nazareth, which has shared the Empire 8 title with Ithaca for the past four seasons, will travel to Ithaca Nov. 2 for an E8 conference semifinal game. RIT will host Utica in the other semifinal. The conference championship game is Nov. 4.

The Golden Flyers complete their regular season Saturday at Union at 1 p.m.
